Babak Ziai is the Founder & Managing Principal of BrandView Capital Partners and is responsible for sourcing, execution and overall management of the firm’s investment portfolio and operations. Babak is also an Adjunct Professor of real estate investment and development at the University of Southern California.
Babak brings 15 years of principal experience in over $1 billion in joint venture, acquisition and development of commercial and mixed-use properties on behalf of institutional investment funds,
capital clients and partnerships. Mr. Ziai previously served as Vice President of Acquisitions and Development at Lowe Enterprises Inc., a diversified, vertically integrated, national real estate
company with over $6 billion in assets under management. At the confluence of Lowe’s investment and operating platforms, Mr. Ziai led investments for $300 million in value-added commercial
acquisitions in the Western U.S. and mixed use development totaling $800 million in Southern California.
Babak is an executive member of the USC Real Estate Entrepreneur Roundtable, International Council of Shopping Centers and Forbes Real Estate Council. Mr. Ziai began his career as a Consultant for Standard & Poor’s where he advised domestic Fortune 500 and foreign companies on business enterprise and asset valuations. Formal education includes a B.A. in Business Economics from UCLA and a Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California.
Danny Seo is Managing Principal of BrandView Capital Partners and is responsible for sourcing new investments and leading all equity raising, investment management and investor relations for private and family office investors.
Danny brings greater than 16 years of financial markets experience. He has spent the past decade in the specialized worlds of family offices at Checchi Capital Advisers and hedge funds at Sanford Bernstein. Prior to this, Danny was in real estate private equity at Clarion Partners and mortgage banking at George Elkins helping finance approximately $500 million of joint venture equity, acquisition, senior debt and mezzanine transactions for commercial real estate partners and clients.
Danny is very active at the Harvard-Westlake School where he is a past President of the Alumni Board reporting to the Board of Trustees while also previously serving on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Police Foundation. He began his career in technology investment banking at Robertson Stephens in San Francisco. Formal education includes a B.S. with honors in finance from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College and an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.
Ian O’Neill is a Senior Investment Associate at BrandView Capital Partners and is responsible for the underwriting of prospective investments, asset management and execution of property value-creation plans.
Ian brings more than 10 years of combined experience in real estate underwriting, asset management, and construction management. Ian previously served as an Investment Associate at AIG Investments, a portfolio lender with approximately $29 billion in assets under management, where he closed $1.6 billion in senior loans with the commercial mortgage lending and structured products teams. Prior to this role, Ian also worked in asset management where he redeveloped and disposed of the portfolio’s REO assets.
Ian is an executive board member of the UCLA Real Estate Alumni Group where he was instrumental in creating the group’s charitable collaborations – most notably with Habitat for Humanity. Ian began his career as a Project Manager at Nelson Daniels, a general contractor specializing in high-end custom homes in Los Angeles. Formal education includes a B.S. in Construction Management from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.
Brendan Lesch leads mulitfamily acquisitions for Brandview Capital Partners and is responsible for sourcing and underwriting potential multifamily investments, as well as execution of property value-creation plans.
A former collegiate soccer player, Brendan began his professional career playing soccer internationally, in both New Zealand and Chile, prior to joining Sandler O'Neill & Partners. Formal education includes a B.A. and MBA with honors from the University of Notre Dame. Brendan is also a CFA charterholder.
Brendan brings over five years of combined experience in underwriting, acquisitions, and deal execution. Prior to joining Brandview Capital Partners, Brendan served as Vice President for The Ruth Group, a real estate investment and development firm based in Los Angeles, where he focused on value-add acquisitions, dispositions, and development opportunities ranging in deal size from $20M to $200M in Southern California. Prior to The Ruth Group, Brendan was an Investment Banking Analyst for Sandler O'Neill + Partners in New York City, where he was heavily involved in a variety of mergers with deal values in excess of $1B, including the $2.2B acquisition of Capital Bank Financial Corp. (CBF) by First Horizon National Corporation (FHN) in 2017.
